Families
Family photos should feel relaxed, joyful, and authentic, not stiff or overly posed. I photograph families throughout Rochester and the Finger Lakes area with a lifestyle approach that focuses on connection, movement, and genuine interaction. Whether we’re documenting a growing family, milestone season, or simply this chapter of life as it is right now, my goal is to create images that feel natural and timeless.

The next step is simple! Just reach out through my contact form and let me know what type of session you’re interested in and your preferred timeframe. I’ll respond with availability, package details, and everything you need to get started.
Once you choose your date and package:
You’ll complete a non-refundable retainer to officially reserve your session date. The retainer secures your spot on my calendar and ensures that I’m fully committed for that date and time. The remaining balance is due the day of your session.
And then we start planning all the fun details—location, styling, and preparing for your session!

Each package includes a curated set of professionally edited images, with the final number depending on the collection you choose. Most families receive either 30, 45, or 60 hand-edited images.
After your session, you’ll receive a proof gallery where you can select your favorite images based on the package you booked. I then carefully edit those selections to ensure they reflect my signature style and the very best moments from your session.
Additional images are always available for purchase if you fall in love with more than your included amount.

Family sessions typically take place outdoors at one of my favorite locations, chosen for beautiful light and space for kids to move naturally. I’m happy to recommend spots based on the season and the overall look you love—open fields, wooded trails, waterfront, or something more classic and timeless. In-home lifestyle sessions are also available if you prefer a cozy, documentary feel.
-
I recommend choosing from a coordinated color palette rather than matching outfits. Neutrals with a few complementary tones photograph beautifully and keep the focus on connection. Texture (knits, linen, layers) adds depth without distraction. Accessories are always a nice touch as well!
-
Absolutely! Pets are part of the family. I just suggest bringing a helper who can hold them when they’re not in photos, plus treats or a favorite toy to grab their attention when needed.

The hour before sunset offers the most flattering, soft light (golden hour), which creates that warm, glowy look many families love. Morning sessions can also be wonderful, especially for young children who are happiest earlier in the day.
